Mathematical Science

“Mathematics, hailed as the queen of sciences” by Carl Fredrich, dreaded by many and loved by an equal number, has progressed rapidly since the beginning of recorded history.
Department of Mathematics was established to provide strong Mathematical back ground to Graduates and to cope up with the needs. It was started with a very modest beginning having only a handful of courses.  Also the faculty were actively involved and published/ presented quality papers/book chapters in reputed journals. Also the Department organised good number of workshops/seminars/ guest lectures/certificate courses related to technical and social issues.

Vijayam Science And Arts Degree College was established in 2003, Affiliated to S.V. University, Tirupati. with a vision of Hon. Chairman Dr. M. Thejomoorthy Garu to provide good Quality education to students from rural area and also started commerce department with MATHAMATICAL SCIENCES Application in English medium. Department of Mathematics thus emphasis on overall development of student for that we provide various daily activities and some weekly activities and number of intercollegiate competitions with their regular curriculum.

Kuppum, A.P. She is having 12 years of teaching experience. She is teaching in the Department of Mathematics in VSADC from 2007 to till date. 

As I prepare to step down as Head of Department, I’m delighted to say that Mathematics is thriving at Imperial.

We’re among the top in the country for research and our teaching is excellent too. This means we are very popular among the next generation of data scientists; our Master’s courses, for example, are wildly over-subscribed.

The College has been very supportive but as fast as they can give us space, we’ve filled it. 

I wish the new Head of Department every success with what promises to be a busy but exciting future.
