Department of Commerce thus embraces all those functions involved in the making, buying, selling and transport of goods & Services. As a subject of organized study, commerce has recently come to the fore. Today, the subject is of prime importance as the nations that are foremost in the world have what may be called commercial rather than industrial, economies, with commercial activities and occupations attracting the largest part of both capital and labor resources.

Vijayam Science And Arts Degree College was established in 2003, Affiliated to S.V. University, Tirupati. with a vision of  Hon. Chairman Dr. M. Thejomoorthy Garu to provide good Quality education to students from rural area and also started commerce department with B. Com. Computer Application in English medium. Department of Commerce thus emphasis on overall development of student for that we provide various daily activities and some weekly activities and number of intercollegiate competitions with their regular curriculum.

A. Venkatesan did his Masters Degree In Commerce  from Annamali University, Chidhambaram, and obtained his B.Ed. from Annamali University, Chidhambaram. He is having 32 years of teaching experience. His topics of studies include Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting,  Cost And Management Accounting, Income Tax. He had guided more than 200 Commerce Projects for degree students. He published Financial Accounting, a Reference Book for 1st Semister B.Com Students Various Universities in the state of A.P. He is teaching in the Department of Commerce in VSADC from 2007 to till date. 

The Department of Commerce has recorded consistent improvement in its academic and placement performance. It offers a wide range of indicatively designed programs whose curriculum are constantly updated to meet the changing requirement of the industry and to meet the needs of major stakeholders.

We believe that our students have been well accepted in their job profiles and have consistently exceeded expectations of the corporate world.  

During study at the department, the students are encouraged to get hands-on experience in the corporate world through internship projects with reputed organizations. In their curriculum, they are encouraged to take up mini projects to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical experience. They also undertake projects benefiting local industries or dealing with local problems. These projects enable them to understand the relevance of working in a group and also helps them to realize the finer aspects and importance of teamwork.

With all these inputs one finds our students hardworking, practical-oriented and effective in any work environment. We have designed our syllabus to strike a balance between professional knowledge and personal skills. We are confident that our current curriculum has enabled the overall development of budding managers to come up with the expectations of the corporate world.
