Vijayam Science and Arts Degree College is located at the prime area in Chittoor town, Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh and is affiliated to Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. It was established in the academic year 2003-04.

Over the years, the Institute created records in University results and campus placements. Many of the major multinational companies rated the institution as the available source of the best cream of human resources.The educational journey of the institution is unique and peculiar in many ways. Right from the beginning the academic pursuits of the students were shaped, moulded and designed to achieve the holistic development.

 The Institute has very good infrastructural facilities. At present the total strength of the institution is 2320 in 1st, 2nd and 3rd year degree courses.

A thumping 1894 number of students got placements in various MNCs in the last five academic years. They were imparted quality education with values and involvement in the community related aspects with social responsibilities. All these elements were the determinantal force towards attaining A+ status in our first cycle of NAAC accreditation.

The perspective and strategic plan is made by the institution to fulfil the requirements of industry and toaddress real world problems of local and global by providing quality education to produce technicallycompetent graduates to serve the nation.

 The students’ progress towards technical and social excellence isachieved with well-established systems and processes. The institute has developed a strategic plans andprospective plan to ensure quality in teaching and learning, promote outcome-based education andimplement various quality initiatives.

In the process the Institute have the following development plans:

• To encourage and motivate the faculty members to pursue doctoral programs.
• Focus on Research and Development and publish more Journal publications.
• Intensify the training on communication skills to the students.
• Invite local industries to the campus to facilitate the students to have an interaction in the process ofencouraging the entrepreneurial qualities of the budding graduates.
• Organize the national and international seminars and conferences.
• Start NCC wing of the institution to inculcate the spirit of discipline and willingness to serve the country among the students.
• Obtain Autonomous status of the Institution.
• Introduce more Programs in the emerging areas
